During the 84th Legislative Session in 2015, Senate Bill 202 abolished and transferred functions of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Final Results of Last Sunset Review

House Bill 1155 continued the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians and contained all of the Sunset Commission’s recommendations on the Board.  The list below summarizes the major provisions of House 1155.

  • Conforms key elements of the Board’s licensing and regulatory functions to commonly applied licensing practices.
  • Continues regulation of dietitians with an independent Board at the Department of State Health Services for 12 years.
